PEDOPHILIA IS GROWING ON THE INTERNET: 49393 pedophile sites were reported last year, that’s 135 new sites that spring up every day which damage children.

The market for child pornography on the internet continues to grow at a dizzying rate, and the number of children being abused and exploited by the criminal organizations that manage the pedo-pornography business is increasing exponentially. In fact, the technological means that these organizations have at their disposal are becoming more and more sophisticated and they are employing ever more elaborate strategies to avoid detection and prosecution of their activities by the authorities. This is the worrying data that emerges from the 14th annual report of Telefono Arcobaleno’s International Observatory, that, in 2009, flagged-up to the authorities and internet providers more than 49,393 reports from 35 countries, an increase of 7000 over the previous year, with an average of 135 new sites reported every day. The images of the sexual abuse of children that circulate on the Internet are distributed using all the channels available on the Web, ranging from traditional sites to the use of the main social networks, places where a growing percentage of Internet users can be found. In the year 2009 20 new pedophile groups were created on social networking sites every week.
